2 Year Olds Program

World Class Learning Academy is now offering a new academic program for 2 year olds held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:45 -10:45 am.

Melinda Atsin is our program’s teacher and is experienced in educating children from 6 months to 6 years old.  Her approach centers on building confidence in young children through experiential education.

Early literacy is one of the cornerstones of the program, encouraging independence.  Children begin reading as a group in a story time setting, with each child gaining confidence as they are encouraged to begin reading on their own.

Foreign language instruction also begins at age 2, with daily Spanish lessons using song and movement.  Baby sign language is incorporated throughout the day to facilitate communication.

Our 2-year-old program also reflects our school's global perspective: students and their families provide the basis for understanding the cultural diversity of the school.  Real life experiences in different cultures and countries are shared in the classroom and then integrated in student learning throughout the school year.

Children in the 2-year-old program attend school with a caregiver for 2 hours each day, 3 days a week.  We plan to expand this class to 5 days a week as enrollment grows.  We are also considering a drop-off program for the 2012-2013 school year where caregivers can gradually phase out of the classroom when students are comfortable on their own.
